My name is Wei Ren.

I am a videographer based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Here at Firewood Films, we believe that the visual medium is a gateway to an infinity of stories, memories and experiences. Our goal is to work together with our clients to best solidify these elements into creative films.

My journey in filmography began in 2019 when I took the opportunity to film a vlog for a scouts camp. Since then, I began dabbling in passion projects for social events and short film competitions. I found that I loved what I was doing and after speaking to various people in the industry, I decided to pursue filmmaking as a degree at Sunway University. Passionate about the craft of videography and visual storytelling, I decided to create my own brand, hence the birth of Firewood Films.

The brand's name originated from my YouTube channel when I first created the account back in 2017. I decided to use a picture of a campfire from my scouting days, hence the channel name "Firewood". Eventually, the name evolved into Firewood Films. The brand's logo consists of Two Fs, one upright and the other upside down. Merging them together forms the Chinese character "目". This character is defined as eye, sight, or vision, all of which are perfect descriptions of the visual medium.
